The Marin City Community Service District (MCCSD) is planning and developing the Marin City Center complex in Marin City. The core of the Marin City Center will be a community center facility that will include a gymnasium, swim center, teen center, game room, senior center, commercial kitchen, recording and broadcast studios, classrooms, computer labs, fitness center, dance studio, District offices as well as conference space. The finished project is planned to also include an amphitheater, limited retail and office development as well as a housing development.

The proposed Marin City Center complex is part of an overall joint-use master plan project with our partner, the Sausalito Marin City School District (SMCSD). The joint-use proposal is to combine portions of the proposed MCCSD community center with portions of the new middle school being constructed in Marin City by the SMCSD. In addition to modern classrooms, the middle school complex is planning to include a multi-use performing arts theater and the possible relocation of the Marin City Library. The jointly-owned Phillips Drive will be bisected by a proposed pedestrian plaza, allowing children to walk between the school and the community center without having to cross a street.
